Why become a LSHI member?

Whether you’re a physician, engineer, nurse, data scientist, healthcare executive, public health specialist or researcher and you are active in the Health Informatics domain, LSHI is the professional home to collaborate, discover and accelerate the intersection of health sciences with data, technology and innovation. We’re driven by our passion to improve people’s health and our healthcare system through the use of data and informatics.

Membership requirements

You can apply for LSHI membership if you fulfill at least one of the following conditions:

o   Demonstrate possession of a diploma equivalent to a Master’s or Doctorate degree in the direct field of health informatics;

o   Hold a bachelor’s degree in a health-related specialty, in addition to:

–    a valid and current professional certification in the field of health informatics from a recognized global body or organization (e.g., HIMSS, AMIA, IMIA),

– or a university diploma of a study duration of no less than one year in the field of health informatics, concurrently with a minimum of three years of documented practical experience in the field of health informatics;

o Hold a bachelor’s degree in informatics, data science, or a diploma in computer engineering or medical instrumentation, or a bachelor’s degree in a health-related specialty, concurrently with a minimum of five years of documented practical experience in the field of health informatics
